Who are you? Give us a little peek into your background, lifestyle, work, interests, and goals.
My name is Rachelle Legrand! I am a daughter, sister, loving friend and I am paid to be a certified yapper! I LOVE live theatre and a LIVE performance!
I am a 2x Emmy nominated tv host on WILX TV's Studio 10 and have been working here for the past 4 years.
Although I am from New Jersey and was born and raised on the east coast, I was adopted by the Midwest and have loved the transplant life ever since.
My dreams are to be on Broadway and network television one day! I would love to move to the big screen with the Today Show and Entertainment Tonight and my other dream is to change others for the better. One of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou is, "…people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Tell us about a recent local event or experience you enjoyed.
Most recently, I took a line dancing class with Rock the Block at REACH Studio Art Center and learned a few new line dances. One thing I noticed living in the Midwest is that you MUST know the TAMIA HUSSLE! I am an expert at that...but only that... so from time to time, I like to brush up on my skills!
If you could only eat at ONE locally-owned restaurant for an entire month, which would you choose (and why)?
Is it okay if I choose three? I really enjoy Golden Harvest! It is so HOLE-IN-THE-WALL-y, I love it! When I bring friends into town for the first time, I love bringing them there. I also love Batter Up Bistro! The food is ALWAYS fresh and tastes perfect! I often pick it up to eat when I cannot sit down and enjoy it at the restaurant! Also, RJ’s Burgers and Ice Cream! I never knew I would LOVE smash burgers until I ate there!

I participated in this FREE program, twice!
Twice a week, they encourage you to walk and run for only one hour a day.
I did this program and saw a massive change in my health and it got me outside walking and moving more. It doesn't matter what your age is, ability levels, if you never ran a race before, it truly is just about moving. Through this I got a chance to explore Lansing more and see more of its beautiful trails. This quick one hour program kept me from mindlessly doom scrolling and being unproductive at home. It is harder for me to get up during the winter. The seasonal depression in the Midwest is REAL, but this program taught me how quick one hour is and how beneficial it can be. It makes it easier to keep up with the summer and spring when the weather is better.
What’s a piece of life advice you’d like to share with anyone reading this?
You can speak life or death with your tongue. Remember that your words have power and be careful how you use them!
