UWSCMI Capital Area addresses the most pressing social issues especially those related to financial instability among ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained and Employed), marginalized and underrepresented people. Annually we distribute funding to local nonprofits, support a culture of volunteerism, and assist with Free Taxes and Utility Assistance to improve the quality of life among residents of the region.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
VITA is a free tax service provided to households that make less than $64,000 per year. Our team of volunteers, supported by full-time staff, are IRS trained and certified and will provide you with the highest quality return possible.
